The Kannada film ‘Kirathaka’ a remake of Tamil film ‘Kalavani’ is shooting briskly in KRS surroundings. There was a film with the same title starring Tiger Prabhakar in the past. But there is no element of that film says director Pradeep Raj. The Tamil film ‘Kalavani’ was released in last June was directed by fresher Sargunam. Vimal and Oviya played roles.

Actress Oviya is repeating her role in Kannada version with hero Yash. The film is set in the village background and it is debut for Pradeep Raj in Kannada. So a fresher film in Tamil is directed by a fresher in Kannada.

The shooting for ‘Kirathaka’ will be held in Mysore and Mandya. In fact hero Yash also hails from Paduvarahalli near Mysore.

Apparently this is the first remake for Yash. The school days memories he is getting back working for this film. There are five songs in this film and V Manohar scores the music.

Ace director and Karnataka Chalanachitra Academy Chairman TS Nagabharana and national award winningactress Thara play the couple in this film.
